Handling projects great and small
Pasquill may be known as one of the largest suppliers of trussed rafters in the UK, but that doesn’t mean we only cater for big projects. In fact, our floor and roof solutions equally meet the demands of smaller jobs – serving national, regional housebuilders and self-builders alike.
This versatility is integral to what we do. That’s because, ultimately, we want all our clients to trust that they will receive the same high level of craftsmanship from us – no matter the size of their project.
Here’s a look at how we adapt our solutions for different project scales.
Thinking big
Our portfolio includes numerous large-scale and high-profile projects. A standout example is the £10m Hilton House care home, a complex three-storey, 60-bed facility in Edinburgh for which we designed and implemented a sophisticated roof system with precision-engineered timber trusses.
As the designs came together, we created a 3D drawing of the roof trusses, which we shared with the client to make sure they were happy. We also added a QR code to paper drawings and issued them to the client, allowing the on-site team to open the plans on their phones and see exactly how the trusses fitted together.
Another major project was the recent £2m, five-classroom teaching block at Brannel School in Cornwall. This project required much precision and adaptability, with our team having to adapt their designs due to differing thicknesses of the walls on-site and complex junctions between the blockwork and steelwork.
Smaller projects, same big impact
While we relish big challenges, we’re equally comfortable with smaller jobs. A recent example saw us meet the needs of a homeowner who was seeking an eco-friendly and convenient expansion to their Plymouth home. This involved extending an existing bungalow, for which we provided bespoke first-floor joists, timber frame wall panels, and a roof.
The lighter structure of the timber frame extension offered a more sustainable alternative to traditional building methods, while the made-to-measure components ensured a seamless fit and allowed for quicker and more efficient construction.
Another smaller job required us to take over midway through the design phase. Seven Bays holiday park in Cornwall was extending its office and had been let down by another timber manufacturer, so we quickly got to work on finishing the design with new structural calculations.
The complexity of the vaulted roof design made it a tricky job, but thanks to a one-load delivery and one-day construction time, the build went smoothly and met all relevant efficiency and sustainability regulations.

When you select Pasquill for your next project, be it a large housing estate or a private residence extension, you reap all the benefits of off-site manufacture. All materials are of the highest quality, cut exactly to the sizes stipulated within the designs, which reduces the amount of waste on-site. Off-site manufacturing also increases safety on-site by relying less on labour, and build times can be significantly decreased with less time spent building on-site.

Ideal for self-builders who face frequent tight deadlines, this can also be useful for large-scale developments where smooth schedules are paramount.

No matter the size of project, once your designs are complete our expert design team will provide a 3D model free of charge, allowing you to see your design come to life. This 3D model is easily accessible using a QR code, so it can be added to site packs for your on-site workers to use during the build.
