How We’re Training The Next Generation of Junior Designers
At Pasquill, we recognise that our most valuable asset is our people, so we pride ourselves on fostering a strong learning culture. We offer extensive training to all colleagues to ensure they are always reaching their full potential.
To help deliver on this commitment, one of our most experienced designers, Brian Mackintosh, has moved into the role Design and Sales Training and Development Manager. He will utilise everything he’s learnt in his three decades with Pasquill to spearhead a full and comprehensive internal training programme.
The in-depth development plan for junior designers, which aims to reduce overall training time by three months, includes desired behaviours, and a requirement to show enthusiasm, ask questions, use initiative and be proactive. This is reinforced by a number of modules designed to enhance the customer experience, with key learning and actions regularly reviewed.
Brian said: “The creation of this new training role shows that Pasquill is backing up its words with actions. I believe we’re among the first in the sector to have a dedicated, in-house training role, as opposed to grouping it with HR.
“This demonstrates our commitment to continuing all members of the team along the path of training, while increasing their knowledge base and their standards of customer service.
“My 30 years of experience allows me to help others to accelerate their own progress, and I’m looking forward to this new challenge and making the role my own. It’s a huge opportunity to deliver positive impact, and something I really enjoy.
“My first focus is our junior designers as I want to support them and give them every opportunity to excel. Our ambitious plans for growth rely on ensuring that all colleagues have the skills they need to succeed and enjoy their job.”
