Donating materials for outdoor education at Dunbeg Primary School
We were recently approached by MacLeod Construction, an Argyll-based company and one of our longest standing customers, to donate materials for a new gazebo at Dunbeg primary school.
The school, which is near Oban, wanted to create an area where the pupils could learn and play outdoors no matter the weather. For the wooden structure, which measures five metres by five metres, we designed five timber roof trusses and delivered various loose timbers and metalworks to MacLeod Construction.
As children are now getting back to school, this was certainly the perfect time to donate such materials as this gazebo provides the perfect space for pupils to enjoy the outdoors and continue with social distancing measures, where necessary.
As Ian Haig, our Senior Designer says: “We really hope that this new space will make a real difference to the school, its pupils, and its teachers now, and in years to come. We were thrilled to be asked to support; Macleod Construction is one of our biggest customers and it was incredible to see them supporting local communities.”
Project Manager Stuart MacDonald from MacLeod Construction said, “We are currently working on a 300-housing development in Dunbeg, and through this we were communicating with the primary school and recognised that we could help them in constructing a new outdoor area. After working with Pasquill for almost two decades, we knew the team could ensure a quick turnaround of designs and equipment. I’m so pleased to have been able to support the school and their pupils.”
We are very pleased to announce that Dunbeg Primary School is delighted, and we hope the pupils enjoy their new classroom.
