Pasquill’s Contributions to Construction Education
Here at Pasquill we understand the importance of great education for our future builders, project managers and designers. So we have taken time to contribute in whatever way we can, to help teach students about what we do here at Pasquill. Hopefully to inspire the next generation of construction industry leaders and innovators.
Here are some examples of where we’ve worked with colleges and schools to provide resources and teach students about what we do here at our Pasquill design and manufacturing centres.
Moulton College Northampton (www.moulton.ac.uk)
At Moulton College in Northampton, they have a “Pasquill Wall”! For this, we supplied a mini sample truss to add to it. We are always happy to support our local communities and next generation of skilled people within the industry.
We also held a workshop which took the college course to over 1000 students in one year, working with Level 2 Carpenters at Moulton College. The students were able to learn by getting hands-on woodwork experience whilst gaining knowledge about the truss making process.
University of the Highlands and Islands, Inverness (www.uhi.ac.uk)
As part of Pasquill’s contribution to this year’s Responsible Business Week (24th – 28th April), we invited joinery students to tour our Inverness branch. They were able to get a real insight into the Pasquill process, from the initial enquiry right through to the manufacturing process.
Parklands High School (www.parklandsacademy.co.uk)
Some of the Pasquill team visited technology students at Parklands High School in Chorley to help them gain an insight into the career opportunities that the building and distribution industry has to offer.
Our Business & Community Development Coordinator, Lisa Greenhalgh, explained “I thought it would be great if we could reach out to the local community by hosting workshops in schools – where Pasquill operates. The students had a fantastic time getting involved in the practical side of the session.”
West Midlands Construction University Technical College (www.westmidlandsconstructionutc.co.uk)
We recently helped West Midlands Construction University Technical College complete their “Pasquill wall”. We were more than happy to be part of the Employer Group supporting this unique construction school.
If you’re a school or college and would like to give your pupils a real insight into the timber construction process with help from the experts here at Pasquill, get in touch with our Business & Community Development Coordinator, Lisa Greenhalgh, via email at [email protected].
